Had a terrible nights sleep 🙂 Karl’s snoring or as he likes to refer to it as “pussy purring” was more like a damn lion roaring all night. Anyhoos, up for breaky in the main lodge with a lovely view of the lake….you couldn’t ask for a better start.
What to do today??? First world problems….lol
The sun’s out…YAY, Karl suggests we go for a ride – sure.
We decide to head out onto the Snowy Mountain Highway to a section of road, again that we haven’t done nearly enough of. The roads are dry today and the scenery is luscious and green (no doubt with all the rain we’ve had) and we have a little bit of a play. There are roads works in three sections though which hold us up a bit but not to worry after all, we have all the time in the day.
We decided to go “up the Brown” today…..lol. Dudley’s liking this road too….we are into it but there are sections that are a bit bumpy and which totally unsettle his suspension.
Stopped at the lookout and reflected on the fun we just had…..he he he
After you’ve gone “up the Brown”, you naturally have to go “down the Brown” and as you reach the bottom you wash off in Brown Creek….lol!!!! Seriously, it’s a great road and the Brown Mountain is definitely a road you should have on the list of roads to ride (just hope you have a good run like we did).
Lunch in Tathra – hot chippies for me and a calamari burger for Karl overlooking the beach. It was just a bit too windy to go down (the thought of sand in my lunch just wasn’t appealing).
We head back to Merimbula and I do a little bit of window shopping and sus out somewhere for dinner tonight, while Karl goes back to have a lazy afternoon nap.
At the bottom of the drive to Robyn’s Nest there’s this little pond….it’s so peaceful (well maybe not coming down in first gear, it’s pretty steep) but it’s a lovely spot. There’s a family of duckies that live there and were out for their afternoon stroll. Just quietly, I’m sure there is more than one ducky family that lives here.
Off to Ritzy’s Tapas Bar for dinner tonight. The reviews are great, so here’s hoping it lives up to it!!
Sorry there aren’t a lot of pics today but I left the camera (which I normally hang around my neck while I ride) back at the cottage……doh!
Oh, BTW – Ritzy’s tapas Bar and grill was great! A good selection on the sharing plate, a cocktail each and topped off with a nice coffee.
